Come, friends, let's each speak for ourselves of the wonderful love of Jesus. Not just what we've heard, but what we've truly experienced. Jesus, Your love was wonderful when I was far from You, lost in my own desires. You kept me from falling into sin and saved me from self-destruction.
Your love stopped judgment when it cried, "Cut it down!" Instead, You brought me to a place where I could feel the weight of my sin. With gentle words, You called, "Come to me, and I'll give you rest." In an instant, You washed away my sins, turning my crimson-stained soul pure and white as snow. You comforted me with, "I'm yours and you're mine," and "The Father himself loves you." Those sweet moments of knowing "the love of the Spirit" are unforgettable.
Moses had his cleft in the rock; we've had ours too, where the glory of God shined through Christ. Just as David remembered his wilderness experiences, we hold dear our own moments of closeness with You. Precious Lord Jesus, give us a fresh taste of Your wonderful love as this month begins. Amen.
Closing Prayer
Father, as evening comes, fill us with Your love so we can share it freely. In Jesus' name, Amen.
