June 10

If God had wanted, we could have entered heaven the moment we believed. Staying here wasn't necessary for our eternal preparation. Someone could be taken to heaven right after believing in Jesus and still be ready to share in the inheritance of the faithful. Becoming holy is a long journey, and we won't be perfected until we leave our bodies and enter heaven.

Still, God could have transformed us immediately and brought us to heaven. Why are we here then? Would God keep His children from paradise any longer than needed? Why does His church remain in the struggle when a single action could bring victory?

God's children wander, yet a word from Him could fulfill all hopes and bring them home. We're here to "live to the Lord" and help others know His love. We stay on earth to sow good seed, break new ground, and proclaim salvation. We are the "salt of the earth," meant to bless the world.

Our purpose is to glorify Christ daily. We are workers for Him and with Him. Let's ensure our lives meet their purpose. Let's live earnestly, usefully, and holy, for "the praise of the glory of His grace." Though we yearn to be with Him, we sing, "My heart is with him on his throne, And ill can brook delay. Each moment listening for the voice, Rise up, and come away."

He keeps us here to fulfill His purpose in us and through us.

Closing Prayer

Jesus, as dawn breaks, help us trust you fully, even when the path isn't clear. For your glory, Amen.
