January 19

Last evening we saw Jesus opening the Scriptures; tonight we witness Him opening our understanding. Many can present Scripture to us, but only the Lord can prepare our minds to truly receive it. Jesus is different from other teachers. Others speak to the ears; He touches the heart. They offer the text, but He gives us a love for its truth, helping us savor its spirit. Even the simplest can grasp profound truths when Jesus, through His Spirit, reveals His kingdom and opens our eyes to the unseen.

We are blessed if Jesus has enlightened our understanding. Many learned people remain blind to eternal truths. They know the letter of revelation but miss its spirit. Their hearts are veiled, and reason can't break through. We were once like that, blind and oblivious to truth's beauty.

Without Jesus' love opening our minds, we would still be ignorant. We need His grace to understand spiritual truths, just as much as a baby needs help to climb the Pyramids or an ostrich to fly to the stars. Jesus' teaching is the only path to truly understand God’s truth. Other schools may tell us what to believe, but only Christ shows us how. Let's sit at His feet, pray earnestly, and ask Him to brighten our minds and deepen our understanding of heavenly things.

Closing Prayer

Lord, as we end this day, help us trust You fully, even when the way forward isn't clear. For Your glory, Amen.
