The camp of Dan took the rear position when the Israelites marched. Their place might have been at the back, but they were as much a part of God’s people as those in front. They followed the same guiding pillar, ate the same manna, drank from the spiritual rock, and journeyed to the same inheritance. Cheer up, my heart, even if you're last or least; you share in the honor of being part of this great army.

Someone must be low in honor and recognition, doing humble work for Jesus. Why not me? Whether in a small village or a tough urban street, I'll keep working, carrying my standard at the rear. The Danites had a crucial role, gathering stragglers and lost items on the journey. While some rush ahead to discover new truths and lead others to Jesus, others with a steadier spirit can remind the church of its ancient faith and help those who are weary. Every position serves its purpose, and those who move slowly can still bless the whole group.

The rear guard faces danger, with enemies behind and before. Amalek attacked Israel and killed some of the stragglers. An experienced Christian has much to do helping those who doubt, struggle, or waver in their faith. These souls shouldn't be left alone. Let it be the mission of strong believers to uphold the banner even among those lagging behind. My heart, look out today and help those who are struggling at the back.

Closing Prayer

Jesus, as dawn breaks, help us trust You fully, even when the path isn't clear. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
