August 30

Waiting might seem simple, but it's a posture that takes years for a Christian soldier to learn. Marching and moving quickly feel easier to God's warriors than standing firm. There are times when even the most willing heart, eager to serve the Lord, feels confused and unsure of what to do. What then?

Should we despair, retreat, act out of fear, or rush forward recklessly? No, we should wait. But wait in prayer. Call on God, lay your situation before Him, share your struggles, and seek His promised help. When caught between choices, it's comforting to humbly wait on the Lord with a childlike heart. It's truly well when we acknowledge our own limits and are ready to be led by God's will. But wait with faith.

Show unwavering trust in Him. Waiting without faith is an insult to the Lord. Trust that if He keeps you waiting even until the last moment, He'll arrive right on time. The vision will not delay. Wait in patience, not fighting against it, but thanking God for the trial. Don't grumble like the Israelites did against Moses.

Never wish to return to old ways. Accept the situation, however it is, fully and without self-will, surrendering it to your faithful God. Say, "Now, Lord, not my will, but Yours be done. I'm at a loss, yet I'll wait for You to make a way. I'll wait, even if it takes time, for my heart is steadfast in You alone, God. My spirit waits, certain You'll be my joy and salvation, my refuge and strong tower."

Closing Prayer

Lord, as the day begins, help us to trust You fully, even when the way forward is unclear. In Jesus' name, Amen.
