God's sovereignty is evident here. Some may grow frustrated when not called to prominent ministry roles, but rejoice that Jesus calls whom He wills. If He sets me as a doorkeeper in His house, I'll gratefully bless Him for the grace to serve Him in any capacity. Christ's call comes from above.

Jesus remains high above the world in holiness, love, and power. Those He calls must draw near to Him, living in constant communion. While not everyone can achieve scholarly acclaim, like Moses, they must ascend God's mount for deep communion with the unseen God. This prepares them to proclaim the gospel. Jesus sought communion with the Father, and we must do the same if we hope to bless others.

No surprise that the apostles were empowered after being with Jesus on the mountain. Today, let's seek close fellowship with God, preparing for the work He set before us. Let's not face others before seeing Jesus. Time with Him is a rich investment.

With divine power from Christ, we too can cast out devils and perform wonders. Without heavenly weapons, we can't fight the Lord's battles. We must see Jesus. We'll linger at the mercy seat until He reveals Himself to us distinct from the world, allowing us to say, "We were with Him in the Holy Mount."

Closing Prayer

Jesus, as dawn breaks, fill us with Your love so we can share it freely. For Your glory, Amen.
