September 11

As Christians in the world, we should not be of the world. Our lives should stand out with purpose. For us, living means Christ. In everything we do—eating, drinking, or any activity—it should be for God's glory. You can accumulate wealth, but store your treasures in heaven where nothing can ruin them.

You might strive for riches, but aim to be rich in faith and good works. Enjoy life's pleasures, but let your joy be in singing psalms and making melody to the Lord. Your spirit and your actions should differ from the world's. By waiting humbly before God and delighting in communion with Him, it becomes clear that you belong to Him.

Let your actions reflect this calling. Do what's right even if it costs you, and reject what’s wrong even if it benefits you. Have no part in the unfruitful works of darkness. Walk in a manner worthy of your calling.

Remember, you're a child of the King of kings. Keep yourself untainted by the world. Don’t let your hands, soon to play heavenly music, be stained. Guard your eyes, soon to see the King, from lust. Keep your feet, soon to walk golden streets, from being soiled. Let hearts, soon to be filled with heaven's joy, reject pride and bitterness. Rise above the crowd, above the fleeting pleasures and prideful displays. Aim for the eternal beauty and divine pleasures where true wealth and glory abide.

Closing Prayer

Lord, as we begin today, help us trust You completely, even when the way seems unclear. For Your glory, Amen.
