December 26

The Lord Jesus is with His church. He walks among us, promising, "I am with you always." He is as present with us now as He was with the disciples by the lake. Not in the flesh, but truly with us. This truth is a blessing. Where Jesus is, love is ignited. Nothing sets the heart on fire like the presence of Jesus.

A glimpse of Him overwhelms us, making us say, "Turn your eyes from me, for they overcome me." The aroma from His garments revives the weary. Resting in His love warms our cold hearts, making us ready for any task or trial. When we know Jesus is with us, our strengths grow, and we throw ourselves into His service with passion. We should desire His presence above all.

We feel His presence most when we resemble Him. To see Christ, grow to be like Him. Unite with His desires and plans through the Spirit, and you'll likely enjoy His company. Remember, His presence is available.

His promise remains true. He loves to be with us. If He feels absent, it's our indifference that keeps Him away. He responds to sincere prayer and lets our pleas and tears hold Him close. These are the golden chains binding Jesus to His people.

Closing Prayer

Father, as evening comes, anchor our hope in Your unchanging promises. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
