Joy in serving God shows our acceptance. If you serve God unhappily, doing what you don't like, you're not truly serving Him. You might go through the motions, but your heart isn't in it. God doesn't want reluctant followers. He's the Lord of love and wants us to serve joyfully. Angels serve with songs, not complaints. A forced obedience isn't real obedience; God sees if we serve from love or duty. Service with joy is true service. Take away joy, and you've taken away sincerity. If someone is forced to fight, he's no patriot. But one who fights gladly for his country shows true patriotism. Joy fuels our strength. It makes service easier, like oil to wheels. Without joy, we're weary. A joyful heart in God's service shows obedience is natural. You can even sing, "Your commands are a delightful path." Ask yourself: do you serve the Lord with gladness? Let's show the world that our faith is a joy, not slavery. Let our gladness prove our Master is good.
Closing Prayer
Lord Jesus, fill us with Your love, that we may serve You joyfully and share it with others. Amen.
