Data Deletion

Daily Spurgeon version 1 has no mobile accounts. Most app data stays on your device, while newsletter email data exists only if you explicitly subscribed.

Last updated: August 20, 2026

There is no app account to delete

The version 1 mobile app does not create a Daily Spurgeon account or cloud profile. You do not need to submit an account-deletion request. Newsletter signup is a separate, optional service and is covered below.

Delete local journal entries

  1. Open a journal entry and use its Delete action when you want to remove an individual entry.
  2. To remove all local app data at once, use a Clear App Data or Reset option if your installed version shows one. Otherwise, follow the device instructions below.
  3. Deletion of local app data cannot be undone. Preserve anything you want to keep before clearing storage or deleting the app.

Clear preferences, streak, and reminders

  1. Turn off morning and evening reminders in Daily Spurgeon Settings to cancel their local schedules.
  2. You may also revoke Daily Spurgeon's notification permission in your device Settings.
  3. Clearing the app's storage or deleting the app removes its local journal entries, streak, appearance and content preferences, reminder settings, and cached content from that device.

Remove all app data from a device

iPhone or iPad

  1. Open device Settings, then General and iPhone/iPad Storage.
  2. Select Daily Spurgeon.
  3. Choose Delete App. Do not choose Offload App, which can keep app documents and data for reinstalling.

Android

  1. Open device Settings, then Apps and Daily Spurgeon.
  2. Open Storage and choose Clear storage or Clear data, or uninstall Daily Spurgeon.
  3. Confirm the deletion when your device asks.

Delete newsletter email data

If you explicitly subscribed to Daily Spurgeon emails, the newsletter record contains your email address and selected morning and/or evening delivery preferences. To remove it:

  1. Use the unsubscribe link in a Daily Spurgeon email, or open the unsubscribe page and submit the subscribed address.
  2. Unsubscribing deletes the newsletter subscriber record and its delivery preferences. It does not affect local app data because the newsletter is separate from the app.
  3. If you cannot use the unsubscribe page, email hello@dailyspurgeon.app from the subscribed address and ask us to delete the newsletter record.
