Jesus won't let His people forget His love. Even if we forget what we've enjoyed, He'll remind us with new expressions of His love. He asks, "Do you forget My cross?" Then He makes us remember it by revealing Himself anew at His table. "Do you forget what I did for you in eternity's council?" He'll remind us, for when we need guidance, He's ready to help.
Mothers don't let their children forget them. If a son in Australia doesn't write, his mother sends a note asking, "Has John forgotten his mother?" The reply proves her gentle reminder worked. Jesus does the same, asking us to remember Him, and we reply, "We'll remember Your love." We remember its ancient roots, as old as the glory You shared with the Father.
We remember Your eternal love, Jesus, when You became our guarantor and chose us as Your own. We recall the love that led You to sacrifice Yourself, the love that awaited the time written of You, "See, I come." We remember Your love in Your holy life, from Bethlehem to Gethsemane. From cradle to grave, every word and deed was love. We delight in Your love that wasn't exhausted by death, in its brilliance at Your resurrection. We remember Your burning love, which won't rest until all are gathered, Zion is glorified, and Jerusalem rests on eternal foundations of light and love in heaven.
Closing Prayer
God, as we end this day, fill us with Your love so we can share it freely. In Jesus' name, Amen.
