February 9

After David defeated the Philistines in a great victory, they returned for another assault. Despite his previous success, David didn't rush into battle again without seeking God's guidance. He could have assumed that since he’d won once, he'd win again without God's help. But David didn’t take that risk. He asked, "Shall I go up against them?" He waited for God's direction.

We should learn from David to take no step without God. If you seek the right path, look to God as your guide. If you're navigating life's storms, let God steer your course. Many dangers can be avoided if we let our Father lead. A wise saying goes, "A Christian who decides for himself may end up harming himself." Another reminds us, "He who goes ahead of God is on a fool's errand." We should watch for God's leading. If His guidance seems delayed, wait for His timing. Those who step ahead may find they have to turn back. God promises, "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go." Let's bring all our questions to Him, asking, "Lord, what would You have me do?" Start your day by seeking His will.

Closing Prayer

Lord Jesus, as the day begins, anchor our hope in Your steadfast promises. Show us the way and keep us close to You. Amen.
