A Christian should be a clear reflection of Jesus Christ. While you might read beautifully written accounts of His life, the truest biography is seen in the actions and words of His followers. If we lived up to our calling, we would resemble Christ so closely that the world would immediately recognize it and say, "This person has been with Jesus; they are like Him." A Christian should share Christ's boldness. Never be ashamed of your faith; it won't disgrace you. Just make sure you don't disgrace it.
Be like Jesus in courage for God. Show His loving spirit: think kindly, speak kindly, and act kindly, so others will say, "This person has been with Jesus." Imitate His holiness. Was He zealous for His Father's work? So should you be. Use your time wisely, doing good.
Was Jesus self-denying, never seeking His own advantage? Do the same. Was He devout? Be fervent in your prayers. Did He submit to His Father’s will? Follow that example. Was He patient? Learn to endure. Most importantly, forgive your enemies as He did. Let His words, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do," echo in your heart. Forgive as you hope to be forgiven. Overcome evil with good. Strive to be like God in this way, so others will say, "This person has been with Jesus."
Closing Prayer
Father, as we start this day, root our hope in Your unchanging promises. Help us live like Jesus. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.
