February 21

If we grasp these words by faith, we hold a powerful weapon. What doubt can withstand this two-edged sword? What fear won't be struck down by this arrow from God's covenant? The struggles of life and the pains of death, the sins within and the traps outside, the trials above and the temptations below—all become lighter when we take refuge in "He has said."

For comfort in peace or strength in battle, "He has said" should be our daily retreat. This shows the immense value of knowing the Scriptures. There could be a promise in the Bible just for you, but if you don't know it, you miss out on its comfort. You're like a prisoner with a key nearby that could free you, but if you don't seek it, you remain trapped.

Scripture holds the medicine for your soul, but you'll stay sick unless you search and find what "He has said." Besides reading the Bible, fill your memory with God's promises. You remember the words of famous people and poems—shouldn't you know God's words deeply so you can call on them to solve problems or dispel doubts? Since "He has said" is the source of wisdom and comfort, let it live in you richly, like a well of water springing up to eternal life. Then you'll grow healthy, strong, and joyful in your faith.

Closing Prayer

God, as we start this day, help us trust You fully, even when the path isn't clear. In Jesus' name, Amen.
