We're in a great war against the evils of this world, and we must use every available weapon. Preaching, teaching, praying, giving—all must be deployed. Talents once thought too small must now be used. Even simple tools can deliver powerful blows. What's important is that the work is done effectively.
Every moment, every skill, every opportunity must be used. We're up against many foes and our resources are limited. Most of our tools need sharpening. We require quick perception, tact, energy, and readiness for the Lord's work. Common sense is often lacking in Christian leadership. We should learn from our adversaries and let them spur us on to sharpen our weapons.
Today, with the Holy Spirit's help, let's renew our zeal. Look at the energy of the Papists; they go to great lengths for a single convert. Witness the dedication of heathen worshippers, enduring pain for their idols. Are they to be the only ones showing patience and sacrifice?
Notice the prince of darkness, relentless in his efforts, bold in plans, thoughtful in plots, and full of energy. The devils are united in their rebellion, while we believers in Jesus are divided and rarely work with unity. May we learn from Satan's dreadful diligence and go forth like good Samaritans, eager to bless others.
Closing Prayer
Lord, as morning breaks, help us trust You fully, even when the way forward isn't clear. In Jesus' name, Amen.
