A humble heart brings blessing. Empty yourself of pride, and God will fill you with His love. If you seek close communion with Christ, heed His words: "To this one I will look, the one who is humble and contrite, and trembles at My word." Lower yourself to rise up to heaven. Didn't Jesus descend so He could ascend? You must do the same.
Grow downward to grow upward, for the sweetest fellowship with heaven is found by the humble. God won't hold back any blessing from a truly humble heart. "Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven," with all its riches. God will give all His treasures to the soul humble enough to receive them without becoming proud.
God blesses us as much as is safe for us to bear. If you don't receive a blessing, it might be for your own good. An unhumbled spirit might take credit for victories in God's work and fall to pride when faced with new challenges. Staying low is for your safety.
When you are truly humble and don't claim any praise, there’s almost no limit to what God can do through you. Humility opens you to God's grace and prepares you to serve others well. True humility can thrive in any life. It's a flavor that improves every aspect of living, whether in prayer, praise, work, or suffering. The genuine salt of humility enriches everything it touches.
Closing Prayer
Jesus, in this quiet moment, fill us with Your love so we can share it freely. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.
