It's strange how little we use the spiritual blessings God gives us. But stranger still? How little we use God himself!

Though he is "our own God," we barely turn to him. We ask so little of him. How seldom we seek his counsel! How often we charge ahead in our business without seeking his guidance! And when troubles come—how constantly we strive to bear our burdens ourselves instead of casting them upon the Lord who promises to sustain us!

This is not because we're forbidden. Listen! The Lord himself seems to say: "I am yours, soul. Come and make use of me as you will! Come freely to my storehouse—and the more often you come, the more welcome you are!" If we don't make free with the riches of our God, we have no one to blame but ourselves.

Since you have such a Friend, and since he invites you—draw from him daily! Never lack while you have a God to go to. Never fear or faint while you have God to help you. Go to your treasure and take whatever you need—everything you could ever want is there.

Learn this divine skill: making God all things to you. He can supply you with all things. Or better still—he can be to you instead of all things.

So let me urge you: make use of your God! Use him in prayer. Go to him often, because he is your God. Oh, will you fail to use so great a privilege? Fly to him! Tell him all your needs. Use him constantly by faith at all times.

Has some dark providence clouded your life? Use your God as a "sun." Has some strong enemy attacked you? Find in Jehovah a "shield"—for he is a sun and shield to his people. Have you lost your way in the mazes of life? Use him as a "guide," for he will direct you.

Whatever you are, wherever you are, remember: God is exactly what you need, exactly where you need him, and he can do everything you need.
