To truly "acquaint ourselves with God, and be at peace," we must know him as he has revealed himself, both in his singular essence and as a Trinity. God said, "Let us make man in our own image." We should not rest until we understand something of the "us" we came from. Seek to know the Father. Approach him with sincere repentance, admitting we're not worthy to be called his children. Accept his loving embrace and wear the ring of his eternal promise. Join his table and let your heart celebrate his grace.
Strive to know more of the Son of God, who reflects his Father’s glory and, with amazing grace, became man for us. See him as both eternal God and suffering human. Follow him walking on the sea with divine authority and resting by the well in human weariness. Don't be content unless Jesus is your Friend, Brother, and all.
Remember the Holy Spirit. Seek a clear understanding of his nature, character, and works. See him as the Spirit who moved upon chaos to create order and who now transforms the chaos of your soul into holiness. Recognize him as the source of spiritual life, enlightenment, instruction, comfort, and sanctification. Witness how he descended as a holy anointing upon Jesus and rests upon you as well. Such a deep, biblical faith in the Trinity gives true peace.
Closing Prayer
Lord Jesus, help us to trust you fully, even when we can't see the way forward. Amen.
