Who is spoken of with such grace? The Good Shepherd. Why does He carry the lambs close to His heart? Because His heart is tender, and their weakness moves Him.

The sighs, ignorance, and struggles of His flock touch His compassion. As our faithful High Priest, He cares for the weak. He bought them with His blood; they're His own. He cares for what was so costly to Him. He's made a promise not to lose a single lamb.

They are part of His glory and reward. What does it mean when it says, "He'll carry them"? Sometimes He protects them from too many trials, treating them gently.

Often, He carries them by filling them with a special love that helps them stand firm. Their understanding might be small, but they find sweetness in what they know. He also carries them by giving them simple faith, trusting His promises as they are, and running with every worry to Jesus. This simple faith lifts them above worldly troubles.

"He carries the lambs in his bosom." This shows His endless love. Would He hold them so close if He didn’t love them deeply? They're so near, they couldn’t be closer. There’s a sacred closeness where Christ shares precious moments with His weak ones.

In His arms, they're perfectly safe; no harm can touch them. Any danger would first have to harm the Shepherd. They find perfect rest and sweet comfort with Him. We often forget the infinite tenderness of Jesus!

Closing Prayer

Lord, as this day ends, help us trust You fully, even when the way forward isn't clear. For Your glory, Amen.
