Warrior, under the banner of Jesus, see this verse with holy joy: if the war is God's, victory is certain. In days of old, the sons of Reuben, the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh faced the Hagarites with only forty-five thousand fighters. Yet, they defeated a hundred thousand, for they cried to God, and He answered because they trusted Him. The Lord saves by many or by few. We must go forth, even as a small number, with Jehovah as our leader.

They didn't ignore their weapons, but their trust wasn't in them alone. We must use what's available, but our confidence must be in the Lord, for He is our true sword and shield. Their success came because the war was God's. In our fight against sin, error, and spiritual wickedness, we're in God's war. We won't be defeated unless He is, so don't fear large numbers or difficulties. Don't flinch from wounds or death. Attack with the Spirit's sword, and enemies will fall.

With steady feet, strong hands, courageous hearts, and passionate zeal, rush into battle. Evil will flee like chaff in the wind. Stand up for Jesus! The fight won't be long. Today, the noise of battle; tomorrow, the victor's song. To those who overcome, a crown of life awaits, and they will reign with the King of glory forever.

Closing Prayer

Jesus, as the day begins, help us trust You completely, even when the way forward is uncertain. For Your glory, Amen.
