Jesus, the Redeemer, is wholly ours and will be forever. Every role Christ takes on, He does for us. He is king, priest, and prophet for us. When we read a new title for the Redeemer, let's claim Him as ours by that name as much as any other.

The shepherd's staff, the father's rod, the captain's sword, the priest's mitre, the prince's scepter, the prophet's mantle—they are all ours. Jesus holds no dignity He won't use to lift us up, and no authority He won't exercise to defend us. His divine fullness is our endless treasure. His humanity, taken for our sake, is ours in its perfection.

Our gracious Lord shares with us the spotless virtue of His pure character. He gives us the merit of His devoted life, and we gain the reward of His obedient service. His life garments us with beauty, His virtues adorn us, and His meek death is our glory. His manger shows us God coming to man; His Cross teaches us how man reaches God. All He thought, felt, did, and said, all His miracles and prayers, were for us.

He walked sorrow's path for us, leaving us the benefits of His labors as a heavenly gift. He is as much ours now as ever. He unashamedly calls Himself "our Lord Jesus Christ," the one true King of kings and Lord of lords. Christ is ours in every way, to delight in forever. O my heart, call Him this morning, "your Redeemer," by the power of the Holy Spirit!
