We have many things right now that can be shaken, and it's unwise for a Christian to rely too heavily on them. Nothing is stable in this world; change touches everything. But some things can't be shaken, and tonight, I encourage you to focus on those. If everything else crumbles, find comfort in what remains unshaken. No matter what you lose or might lose, you have salvation. You're trusting only in Jesus' precious blood, and no market crash can touch that.
No bank failure or financial crisis can affect your place as a child of God. He's your Father, and no circumstance can change that. Even if you're reduced to poverty, you can say, "He is my Father still. In my Father’s house are many mansions; I won't worry." You also have the enduring love of Jesus Christ. He loves you with all his heart, and nothing can change that. Even if the fig tree doesn't blossom or the fields are empty, if you can say, "My Beloved is mine, and I'm his," you're rich. Our best portion, our true inheritance, can't be lost. Whatever troubles come, let's stand firm. Let's not be like children discouraged by this temporary world. Our true home is with Immanuel, and our hope is in the skies. We'll watch everything of this earth fade, and still rejoice in the God of our salvation.
Closing Prayer
God, as we end this day, help us trust You fully, even when the path isn't clear. Amen.
