Locusts always keep their rank. Even though they are many, they don't crowd each other or cause chaos. This shows how God has infused order into His creation. The smallest creatures are as controlled by it as the planets or heavenly messengers. We, too, should be guided by this order in our spiritual lives. One Christian virtue shouldn't overpower another or harm the others.

Love must not overshadow honesty, courage must not push weakness aside, modesty must not dull energy, and patience must not kill determination. Our duties should also not clash: public service shouldn't harm private devotion, church work shouldn't replace family worship. It's wrong to offer God one duty at the expense of another. Everything has its season and place.

Jesus told the Pharisee, "This you ought to have done, without leaving the other undone." We must know our place and stick to it, using our God-given gifts without encroaching on others. Jesus taught us not to seek the highest places but to be content with being the least. Let's avoid envy and ambition, heeding the Master's command and keeping rank. Tonight, let's check if we're maintaining unity and peace in the Spirit. Let's pray for peace and order in all the Lord's churches.

Closing Prayer

Lord, as this day ends, guide us to trust You, even when the path is unclear. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
