August 6

What enemies are out there? Errors surround us, and new ones arise constantly. Which heresy should I guard against? Sins emerge when darkness takes hold; I need to stand watch and pray. Our heavenly Protector sees all the attacks we face. Even when Satan merely desires to harm us, He prays that our faith remains strong.

Keep warning us of our enemies, gracious Watchman. For the sake of Zion, stay vigilant. "Watchman, what of the night?" What weather is coming for the Church? Are the skies threatening or clear? We must love and care for the Church. With threats from both false teachings and disbelief, we need to notice the signs and prepare for battle.

"Watchman, what of the night?" Which stars appear? What promises can we hold onto now? While you alert us to danger, also give us hope. Christ, our guiding star, remains firmly in place, keeping all secure in His hands.

But watchman, when will morning come? The Bridegroom delays. Are there signs of His coming as the Sun of Righteousness? Has the morning star not risen as a promise of day?

When will daylight break and shadows vanish? Jesus, if You don't come to Your waiting Church today, come in Spirit to my longing heart and make it rejoice. "As the earth brightens with morning, my heart feels heavy. Sun of my soul, let me see Your dawn! Come, Jesus, Lord, quickly as promised."

Closing Prayer

Jesus, as dawn breaks, help us trust You fully, even when the path isn't clear. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
