August 13

The cedars of Lebanon symbolize Christians, as they owe their planting entirely to the Lord. This is true of every believer. We aren't planted by ourselves or others, but by God. The Holy Spirit plants the living seed in a heart he's already prepared.

Every true child of God recognizes the Lord as their gardener. The cedars of Lebanon don't rely on human watering; they stand on the high rocks, untouched by human hands, yet our Father takes care of them. Just like these trees, Christians live by faith. They're not dependent on people but look to God alone for sustenance.

Heaven's dew is their portion, and God is their source. The cedars are not sheltered by human power. They're preserved by God alone, no matter the storms. It's the same for believers. They aren't shielded from temptation; their protection comes only from God's eternal wings.

Like the cedars, Christians are full of life, remaining green through winter's cold. Their beauty and strength give glory to God. In one psalm, David says, "Praise the Lord, fruitful trees and all cedars." In believers, nothing elevates man. They're planted, nourished, and kept by God's hand, and to him alone belongs all glory.

Closing Prayer

Lord, as we begin this day, help us trust You fully even when the path is unclear. We pray in Jesus' name. Amen.
