The glorified weep no more because all reasons for grief are gone. In heaven, there are no broken friendships or shattered dreams. There's no poverty, famine, danger, persecution, or slander. Pain doesn't exist, and there's no thought of death or loss.
They weep no more because they're perfectly sanctified. There's no unbelief leading them away from God; they're faultless before His throne, conformed to His image. They stop mourning because they've stopped sinning. They don't cry anymore because the fear of change is gone.
They know they're eternally secure. Sin is locked out, and they're safe within. They live in a city that can't be stormed, under a sun that won't set, beside a river that won't dry up, enjoying fruit that won't wither. Time may pass, but eternity won't run out. As long as eternity lasts, so will their immortality and joy.
They're forever with the Lord. They weep no more because all their desires are fulfilled. There's nothing they lack. Every sense and faculty is completely satisfied.
Our current understanding of what God has prepared for those who love Him is limited, but the Spirit reveals enough to know that the believers in heaven are supremely blessed. The joy of Christ, an infinite delight, fills them. They immerse themselves in God's endless joy. This same rest awaits us.
It might not be far off. Soon, the weeping willow will be replaced by the palm-branch of victory, and tears will turn into the jewels of everlasting joy. Comfort one another with these words.
Closing Prayer
Lord, as this day begins, help us to trust You fully, even when the path isn't clear. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
