Success is certain when the Lord has promised it. Even if you've prayed for months without an answer, God cannot ignore His people when they earnestly pray for His glory. The prophet on Mount Carmel kept wrestling with God, never doubting that he would be heard by Jehovah. Six times the servant returned with nothing, but the command was always, "Go again." We must cling to our faith, even up to seventy times seven.

Faith looks expectantly from Carmel's height. If nothing appears, it continues to look. Faith is not defeated by disappointment but driven to plead more fervently with God. It humbles us, yet it strengthens our resolve. Although a quick answer might be more comfortable, true believers learn the value of waiting on the Lord.

When answers are delayed, they often lead us to self-examination and spiritual renewal. The danger is giving up and missing the blessing. Don't fall into that trap. Keep praying and watching. Finally, a small cloud was seen, promising a flood of rain. Your sign of blessing will come, too, and you will rejoice in God’s mercy.

Elijah was just like us. His power in prayer didn't come from himself. If his prayers were effective, why not yours? Plead for mercy through Christ's blood with relentless persistence, and your desires will align with His will.

Closing Prayer

Jesus, as we pause here, help us to trust You completely, even when the way forward isn't obvious. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
