October 3

Angels quietly attend to God's followers, lifting us up so we won't stumble. Their loyalty to God makes them care deeply for His beloved children. They celebrate when a lost soul returns home and welcome believers into heaven. In ancient times, people saw angels, and though we can't see them now, they're still active, moving between heaven and earth to minister to us.

Angels still touch lives with God's holy fire. If our eyes were opened, we’d see God’s fiery protection surrounding His servants. We've joined a vast company of angels who guard us. As Spenser wrote, "How often do they with golden pinions cleave the flitting skies to aid us!" We are honored that heaven's courtiers serve us willingly.

We enjoy a profound fellowship with these pure beings and are well guarded by God's countless chariots. We owe it all to Jesus. Through Him, we're lifted to heavenly places, above all powers.

Jesus, our protector, surrounds those who fear Him. He’s the true conqueror of evil. All praise to you, Jesus, our guide and savior.

Closing Prayer

Lord, as this day begins, help us to trust you fully, even when the path isn't clear. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
