This is the time of the Holy Spirit, who comforts us now not through Jesus' physical presence but through His constant presence. The Holy Spirit consoles God's people, convicts of sin, enlightens, and teaches. His main role is to bring joy to renewed hearts, strengthen the weak, and lift those who are weighed down by revealing Jesus to us.
The Spirit consoles, but Christ is the source of our comfort. Think of the Spirit as the doctor and Jesus as the healing medicine. The Holy Spirit heals by applying the grace of Christ to our wounds. He shares what is Christ's with us.
If we call the Holy Spirit the Paraclete, then we know Jesus as our true comfort. With all this available, why should a Christian be sad or despairing? The Holy Spirit is committed to comforting you. Do you believe, struggling believer, that He will neglect this sacred responsibility?
Do you think He has taken on a task He can't or won't fulfill? Trust in Him, and He will bring comfort until mourning ends forever, and the celebration begins.
Closing Prayer
God, as we end this day, help us trust You fully, even when the path isn't clear. In Jesus' name, Amen.
