Believer, if your inheritance seems humble, be satisfied with it. It's exactly what you need. God's perfect wisdom has determined your path and chosen what's safest and best for you. Picture a large ship navigating a river. If there's a sandbank, the captain will steer through the deeper waters, even if it means going the long way. Otherwise, the ship would be grounded and wrecked. In the same way, you might face the depths of affliction because your divine Captain knows the dangers along the straight path. Like some plants that die with too much sun, you might be placed where there's less, so you can thrive. You're in this spot because the loving Gardener knows it's where you'll bear the most fruit. If another situation were better, God would have placed you there. Trust that you're in the most suitable circumstances. If you could choose your own path, you'd soon ask, 'Lord, choose for me, for my own desires bring me pain.' Be content with what you have, since the Lord has aligned everything for your good. Carry your daily cross; it's perfectly shaped for you and will help you grow in good works for God's glory. Let go of busy self and prideful impatience. It's not your place to choose, but God's love guides you. 'Trials will come, but with humble faith, I see love in them all; that is true happiness for me.'
Closing Prayer
Father, as evening comes, help us trust in You fully, even when the path isn't clear. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.
