December 5

In England, there's a place where anyone who asks receives a piece of bread. At St. Cross Hospital, travelers need only knock, and their hunger is fed. Jesus loves sinners enough to create this for our souls. Whenever we're hungry for forgiveness, we must only knock to have our needs met.

Jesus offers more than bread. He adds a bath for those stained by sin. This fountain always washes away guilt. No sin is too deep to be cleansed, turning scarlet into pure white.

There's also a wardrobe at the Cross, where we can be clothed in righteousness. For those who seek it, armor is provided. Ask for a sword, and you'll receive one. Need a shield? That's there too.

Nothing beneficial is withheld. You'll have what you need for life's journey, and eternal treasures await. Since all these are available by knocking on mercy's door, let your heart seek boldly today. Don't leave God's presence without laying your needs before Him, trusting they'll be supplied.

Don't hesitate when Jesus invites. Don't doubt when He promises. Don't hold back when such blessings lie before you.

Closing Prayer

Lord Jesus, as the day begins, help us trust You completely, even when we can't see the way. In Your name, Amen.
