December 24

We look forward to the day when the whole world turns to Christ: when false gods are discarded, when false teachings are dismantled, and the light of Christ shines over all nations. Some feel hopeless, seeing the world as broken beyond repair. Yes, the world will one day be consumed, and we expect new heavens and a new earth. Yet we read Scripture with the conviction that "Jesus shall reign wherever the sun does its journeys run." We aren't discouraged by delays. We aren't disheartened by the church's long struggles with limited success.

We believe God won't let this world, where Christ’s blood was shed, remain the devil's fortress. Christ came to free this world from darkness. Imagine the day when men and angels unite, crying, "Hallelujah, for the Lord God reigns!" What joy it will be to have been part of the battle, to help win the victory for our Lord! Blessed are those who trust in the conquering Lord, fighting beside Him through His strength!

How unfortunate for those on the side of evil. It's a losing battle, and losing means eternal loss. Whose side are you on?

Closing Prayer

God, as we end this day, help us trust You fully, even when the path isn't clear. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
