"Grow in grace." Don't focus on one type of grace, but in all kinds. Start with faith, that root grace. Believe the promises more firmly than you have. Let faith grow in fullness, constancy, and simplicity.
Grow in love too. Pray that your love expands, becomes more intense, and practical, affecting every thought, word, and action. Also, grow in humility. Seek to understand your own nothingness.
As you grow downward in humility, reach upward for closer intimacy with God through prayer and fellowship with Jesus. May the Holy Spirit help you grow in knowing our Lord and Savior. If you're not growing in knowing Jesus, you're missing a blessing. Knowing Him is eternal life, and growing in this knowledge is true happiness. If you don't long to know more of Christ, you don't know Him at all.
If you've tasted His love, you'll thirst for more. Christ satisfies, but in a way that makes you want more of Him. If you know Jesus' love, you'll crave more of it, like a deer thirsts for water. If you don’t want to know Him better, you don't truly love Him, because love always desires closeness. Being away from Christ is misery; His presence is heaven. Don't settle without growing closer to Jesus.
Seek to know Him more in His divine nature, His humanity, His finished work, His death, His resurrection, His current glory, and His coming kingdom. Stay close to the Cross and explore the mystery of His wounds. Growing in love for Jesus and understanding His love for us is one of the best signs of growth in grace.
Closing Prayer
Father, in the freshness of morning, help us trust You fully, even when the path isn't clear. For Your glory, Amen.
