January 14

When we hear "to save," we grasp the full scope of salvation's work, from our first holy desire to being made completely holy. This phrase holds the entire essence of mercy. Christ isn't just "mighty to save" those who repent; He can also lead them to repentance. He promises to bring believers to heaven, and He is also powerful enough to grant new hearts and create faith in people.

Christ can make someone who despises holiness come to love it and lead even those who scorn His name to bow before Him. But His power doesn't stop there. His divine strength is seen every day. A believer's life is a series of miracles by "the Mighty God." The bush burns but remains unharmed. He is mighty to keep His people holy after making them so and to preserve their reverence and love until their spiritual journey is completed in heaven.

Christ's power is not about starting a believer's journey and then leaving them alone. The One who begins the good work also completes it. He breathes the first life into a dead soul, sustains it, and strengthens it until all sin's chains are broken, and the soul is perfected in glory. Believer, find encouragement here. Are you praying for someone dear? Don't stop praying because Christ is "mighty to save." You may not have the power to bring back the wayward, but your Lord is Almighty.

Use that mighty arm and trust His strength. If your situation troubles you, don't fear. His strength is sufficient. Whether starting a work in others or carrying it on in you, Jesus is truly "mighty to save," as proven by your own salvation. Thank God that you didn't find Him mighty to destroy!

Closing Prayer

Lord, as we begin this day, help us trust You completely, even when the way forward seems unclear. Amen.
