February 6

Remember, offering intercessory prayer is a joyful gift. It's the sweetest prayer God hears because Christ's own prayers focus on others. In His role as our Great High Priest, He prays for us, not Himself. Our prayers become sweeter when they resemble His. While God welcomes our personal requests, our prayers for others, filled with love and faith, become the most precious offering we can give Him.

Intercessory prayer is powerful and effective. The Bible is full of its amazing effects. Believer, you have a mighty tool in your hands. Use it well, use it often, and with faith. You'll be a blessing to your fellow believers.

When you have the King's attention, speak up for those who suffer. When you're close to His throne and He asks, "What do you wish for?" let your requests be for others, not just yourself. If you have any measure of grace, but don't intercede, that grace is as small as a mustard seed. Just enough to keep you afloat, but lacking the depth to carry others' needs to the Lord. Carry their burdens and return with blessings they might not receive without you. "Oh, let my hands forget their skill, My tongue be silent, cold, and still, This bounding heart forget to beat, If I forget the mercy-seat!"

Closing Prayer

Lord, teach us tonight to remember others in prayer. Let our hearts be burdened for those in need, and may our prayers reflect Your love. In Jesus' name, Amen.
