Think about this, my heart. By believing in Jesus, you're truly freed from guilt. You're no longer in bondage. You've been set free from the shackles of the law and sin. You walk as a free person because your Savior's blood has granted you complete release. You can now approach your Father's throne with confidence.
There's no vengeance to fear, no fiery threat. Justice can't touch the innocent. The barriers are gone: once you couldn't see your Father's face, but now you can. You couldn't speak with Him, but now you boldly have access. You once feared hell, but no more. How can there be punishment for the guiltless?
Anyone who believes is not condemned and cannot be punished. Even more, all the blessings you'd have if you'd never sinned are yours because you're justified. The blessings you'd receive for keeping the law, and more, are yours because Christ kept it for you. The love and acceptance perfect obedience would bring are yours because Christ was perfectly obedient for you, crediting all His merits to your account. Through Him, who became poor for your sake, you are made truly rich.
Oh, how great the debt of love and gratitude you owe your Savior! "A debtor to mercy alone, Of covenant mercy I sing; Nor fear with Your righteousness on, My person and offerings to bring. The terrors of law and of God, With me can have nothing to do; My Savior's obedience and blood Hide all my sins from view."
Closing Prayer
God, as we end this day, help us trust You fully, even when the path isn't clear. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
