February 28

Believers have the privilege of relying on God. Looking to the world brings poor expectations. But when we turn to God for our needs, whether physical or spiritual, our hopes are never in vain. We can continually draw from the bank of faith, receiving from the wealth of God's love.

I'd rather have God as my banker than all the wealthiest individuals combined. He never fails to fulfill His promises, and when we present them to Him, He always responds. So I'll wait at His door, for He graciously opens it. Today, I'll trust Him once more.

We also have expectations beyond this life. When we face death, our hope is in Him. We believe that on our deathbed, He'll send angels to carry us to Him. As our bodies fail, we trust a heavenly messenger will call us home with loving words. At heaven's gate, we expect to hear, "Come, you blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world." We look forward to golden harps and crowns of glory, joining the radiant throng before the throne. We long for the day we'll be like our glorious Lord, for "We shall see him as he is." If these are your expectations, live for God. Desire and resolve to glorify Him from whom all your blessings flow, for by His grace, you have any hope of eternal glory.

Closing Prayer

God, as we start this day, help us trust You fully, even when the path isn't clear. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
