The queen of Sheba was stunned by the richness of Solomon's table. She lost all composure at the sight of the daily provisions and marveled at the servants who dined at the royal table. But how does this compare to the hospitality of the God of grace? Every day, countless believers are fed by Him. They come hungry and thirsty, but none leave unsatisfied; there's enough for each, for all, forever.
The hosts dining at God's table are as numerous as the stars, yet each receives their portion. Just think about how much grace one person needs—only the Infinite could provide it for a single day! Yet the Lord prepares a feast not just for one, but for many, not just for a day, but for years, for generations. The text speaks of guests who are not just satisfied, but "abundantly satisfied" with the richness of God's house. This feast is promised to everyone who trusts in God. I once thought the crumbs of God's grace would satisfy me, like the woman who said, "The dogs eat the crumbs that fall from the master's table." But no child of God gets just leftovers. We dine at the King's table, just like Mephibosheth. In matters of grace, we all receive Benjamin's portion—far more than we ever expected. Though our needs are great, we're often amazed by the abundant grace we experience.
Closing Prayer
Jesus, in this moment, help us trust You fully, even when the path isn't clear. Amen.
