Staying close to Christ heals every trouble. Whether you're dealing with sorrow or are overwhelmed by life's pleasures, being near to Jesus eases both the bitterness and excess. If you live close to Him, it doesn't matter if you're on the heights of honor or in the depths of humility. Near to Jesus, you're sheltered under God's wings, embraced by His eternal love.
Don't let anything keep you from this sacred relationship, the special blessing of a soul united with its beloved. Don't settle for occasional meetings; always seek His presence, because only there do you find comfort and safety. Jesus should be more than a visitor. Walk with Him always. The journey to heaven is tough: make sure you travel with your guide.
You'll face fiery trials, but don't go through them unless, like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, the Son of God is with you. You'll battle your own weaknesses; don't fight alone. Be like Joshua, who saw the Captain of the Lord's army ready to lead. You'll confront temptations: don't meet them until, like Jacob, you've wrestled with God and prevailed. In every situation, you need Jesus, especially when death's gates open. Stay close to your soul's Husband. Rest on His love, ask for the refreshment of His strength, and you'll be found by Him pure and blameless. Since you lived with Him and in Him here, you'll remain with Him forever.
Closing Prayer
Jesus, in this quiet moment, fill us with Your love so we can share it freely. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
