April 16

Moses' prayer was so powerful that everything depended on it. His petitions disrupted the enemy more than Joshua's fighting. Yet both were essential. In our spiritual battles, strength and passion, resolve and devotion, courage and intensity must work together for victory.

You must confront your sin, but much of the struggle happens alone with God. Like Moses' prayer, present God's covenant to Him. The rod symbolized God's work with Moses, His rule over Israel. Learn to lift God's promises before Him, believer.

God won't deny His word. Raise the rod of promise and receive what you ask. When Moses grew tired, his friends supported him. When your prayer weakens, let faith lift one hand and hope raise the other. Seat prayer on the Rock of our Salvation and it will endure and triumph.

Guard against weakness in prayer. If Moses struggled, who won't? It's easier to fight sin publicly than pray against it privately. Joshua never tired in battle, but Moses wearied in prayer. The more spiritual the task, the harder it is to sustain. Let's ask for strength and, like Moses, may the Holy Spirit help us keep our hands steady until life's sun sets, until we see the dawn of a better day where prayer turns to praise.

Closing Prayer

Lord, as this day closes, help us trust You fully, even when the path isn't clear. For Your glory, Amen.
