Imagine the overwhelming sight of sickness laid before Jesus. Yet, Jesus wasn't repelled. He patiently addressed each need. So many types of suffering came to him: painful sores, dreadful diseases.
He was ready for every evil, always victorious. No matter the affliction, fever or madness, leprosy or blindness, they all retreated before his command. Jesus triumphed over every form of suffering, setting captives free.
He came, saw, and conquered. This morning, the same is true. No matter my condition or the struggles of those I pray for, our beloved Physician can heal. I can have hope for everyone I care about when I remember Jesus' healing power.
Even as I wrestle with my own sins, I can take heart. Jesus, who walked among the needy, still pours out grace and performs wonders. I will earnestly seek him. I'll praise him today for the spiritual healing he brings.
He took our sickness on himself. "By his stripes we're healed." The Church is made up of souls healed by our beloved Physician, and heaven rejoices that "He healed them all." Let's proclaim the power of his grace. Let it honor the Lord's name forevermore.
Closing Prayer
Lord, as this day begins, fill us with hope in Your promises. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
