Christian, if you're going through a night of trial, remember tomorrow. Find comfort in the thought of your Lord coming. Be patient. "See, He comes with clouds descending." The farmer waits to harvest. You too must wait, for He has promised, "See, I come quickly, and my reward is with me, to give to everyone according to their work." No matter how difficult things are now, know that soon you'll reach Canaan's shore. Your troubles may press on you now, but soon you'll wear a crown of stars. Your hands might be full of cares, but they'll soon play the harp of heaven. Your clothes might be dusty now, but they'll soon be white. Just wait a little longer.
How insignificant our troubles will seem in hindsight! Right now, they look huge, but when we reach heaven, we'll recount the journey with joy. Our trials will be seen as light and momentary. So let's press on. No matter how dark the night, morning is coming, which is more than can be said for those lost in the darkness of hell.
Do you know what it's like to live in hope, to look forward eagerly, to glimpse heaven now? Happy is the believer with such a sure and comforting hope. It may be dark now, but light is coming. It may be trials now, but happiness will follow. What does it matter if "weeping may endure for a night," when "joy comes in the morning?"
Closing Prayer
Father, as this new morning begins, help us trust You completely, even when the way is unclear. For Your glory, Amen.
