Ambitious upstarts often claim the highest places, while the truly great remain in the shadows. This seems like a mystery of providence, but one day it will bring joy to the righteous. It's a common occurrence, so we shouldn't complain if it happens to us, too. When Jesus was on earth, even though He's the Prince of kings, He chose a path of service and humility.

It's no surprise if His followers, who are royal by blood, are also seen as lowly and insignificant. The world is upside down; the first are last and the last are first. Notice how Satan's followers act grandly in the world! They proudly display their power while God's servants are often overlooked. Haman sits in power, while Mordecai stays by the gate; David hides in the mountains, while Saul rules with glory; Elijah hides in a cave, while Jezebel boasts in her palace. Yet who would trade places with the proud rebels? And who wouldn't admire the faithful believers? The time will come when those who are low will rise, and the high will fall.

Be patient, believer. Eternity will correct the wrongs of our time. Let's not let our desires and fleshly appetites rule over us while our higher priorities are neglected. Grace should be our guide, using our bodies for righteousness. The Holy Spirit values order and places our spiritual faculties in their rightful place, connecting us with our King. Let's stay in line with the divine order, asking for grace to control our bodies and desires. We're made anew to reign in Christ, ruling our spirit, soul, and body for God's glory.

Closing Prayer

Lord, as we begin this day, help us trust You completely, even when our path seems uncertain. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.
