These words hold God's command to believers facing tough situations. When you can't move back or forward, and obstacles surround you, what should you do? Jesus tells you to "Stand still." In these moments, listen only to His word. Despair may whisper, "Give up," but God wants us to have courage and even in our hardest times, to trust His love and faithfulness.

Fear suggests, "Return to your old ways; being a Christian is too hard. Abandon your beliefs." Yet if you're God's child, you can't turn back. His command is for you to grow stronger, and nothing will stop you. If standing still is required, it's only to renew your strength for a future step forward.

Restlessness urges, "Act immediately; doing nothing is lazy." But instead of rushing, look to the Lord. He’s not just going to do something; He will do all you need. Presumption says, "If there's a sea in front of you, step into it and expect a miracle." Faith, however, listens only to God. When He says "Stand still," it stands firm, like a rock. Hold yourself ready for action, waiting for His guidance with patience and hope, and soon He will tell you, as Moses told Israel, "Go forward."

Closing Prayer

God, help us trust You fully today, even when the path isn't clear. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
