August 22

My Master has riches beyond any count, measurement, dream, or words. They're unsearchable. You can look, study, and ponder, but Jesus is an even greater Savior than you realize, even when your thoughts are at their highest. My Lord pardons more readily than you sin, and forgives more easily than you transgress.

He is more willing to meet your needs than you are to admit them. Never think too little of my Lord Jesus. When you honor him, you crown him with silver, though he deserves gold. My Master offers you happiness now.

He can lead you to green pastures and still waters. There's no music like the sound of his voice when he is the Shepherd and you are his sheep, resting at his feet. No love compares to his; neither earth nor heaven can match it. To know Christ and to be in him—this is life, this is joy, this is richness.

My Master doesn't treat his servants poorly; he gives to them as a king gives. He offers two heavens: a heaven here in serving him, and a heaven above in delighting in him forever. His riches are best understood in eternity. Along the way, he'll provide all you need: protection, bread, and water. But there, you will hear the song of triumph and see the glorious and beloved One face-to-face.

The unsearchable riches of Christ! This melody is for earth's musicians and heaven's harpers. Lord, teach us more about Jesus so we can share the good news with others.

Closing Prayer

God, as we end this day, fill us with Your love so we can share it freely. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
