September 5

As a Christian, you live in an ungodly world, but it's no use crying, "Woe is me." Jesus didn't pray for you to be taken out of the world, so you shouldn't wish for that either. Instead, rely on the Lord's strength to face challenges and glorify Him. The enemy looks for inconsistencies in your behavior, so pursue holiness. Remember, people are watching you, and they expect more from you than others.

Aim to live above reproach. Let your goodness be the only thing they can criticize. Like Daniel, let them say, "We can't find any fault in him, only his devotion to God." Work to be both consistent and useful. You might think, "If I were in a better situation, I could serve the Lord more," but the more difficult your surroundings, the more your efforts are needed. If people around you are lost, they need your guidance toward the truth.

A doctor is needed among the sick, and a soldier earns honor in battle. When you're weary from the struggles around you, remember that all believers have faced the same trials. They didn’t have an easy journey to heaven, and neither should you expect one. They risked everything, and you won't be crowned until you've endured hardship as a faithful soldier of Jesus Christ. So, "stand firm in the faith, act with courage, and be strong."

Closing Prayer

Lord Jesus, as the day begins, help us to trust You wholeheartedly, even when our path is unclear. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
