September 12

Faith triumphs in trials. When reason is locked away and bound, faith sings joyfully, "I'll sing of mercy and judgment. To you, Lord, will I sing." Faith sees through the darkness of trouble to find the angel within. Faith looks at the storm cloud and knows, "It's full of mercy and will rain blessings on me." Even in God's judgments, there's reason to sing.

First, the trials aren't as heavy as they could be. Then, the burden isn't as severe as we deserve. Our affliction isn't as crushing as what others may bear. Faith sees that in our worst sorrows, there's nothing vindictive: it's all love. Faith spots love shining like a jewel in God's chastisement. Faith says of her grief, "This is a badge of honor. A child must feel discipline," and rejoices in the good that sorrow brings.

Faith confidently proclaims, "These momentary troubles are working for my eternal glory." She charges through the battlefield, overcoming doubt and senses, singing victory songs amid the fray. "All I meet assists me on my way to heavenly joy. Trials may come now, but they won't last. I'll be blessed with glory, and remember the path that led me to my Savior's presence."

Closing Prayer

Lord, as this day closes, help us trust You fully, even when the path isn't clear. For Your glory, Amen.
