If we live carelessly, the vigilant world will notice, and eagerly spread exaggerated tales filled with slander.

They'll shout, "Aha! Look at how these Christians behave! They're hypocrites!" Such actions harm the cause of Christ and insult His name. The cross itself is already an offense to the world, so let’s ensure we add no offense of our own. It's a stumbling block to some and foolishness to others. Let’s not contribute to the world's scorn through our folly.

We must remain vigilant, firm with our own conscience. In the face of those eager to misrepresent even our best intentions, we need to be watchful. As pilgrims through Vanity Fair, we're under constant scrutiny, with spies we don't even see.
