September 11

The world holds deep hostility against the followers of Christ. While people may overlook multiple faults in others, they often latch onto even the smallest missteps in believers. Instead of regretting this reality, let's use it as a reason to walk carefully before God. If we live carelessly, the vigilant world will notice, and eagerly spread exaggerated tales filled with slander.

They'll shout, "Aha! Look at how these Christians behave! They're hypocrites!" Such actions harm the cause of Christ and insult His name. The cross itself is already an offense to the world, so let’s ensure we add no offense of our own. It's a stumbling block to some and foolishness to others. Let’s not contribute to the world's scorn through our folly.

We must remain vigilant, firm with our own conscience. In the face of those eager to misrepresent even our best intentions, we need to be watchful. As pilgrims through Vanity Fair, we're under constant scrutiny, with spies we don't even see. If we fall into the hands of our enemies, we might find more mercy in a wolf than patience from those who reject God and criticize His people. Lord, guide us and keep us steadfast, so we won’t falter.

Closing Prayer

Jesus, keep our hope anchored in Your unchanging promises. Guide us for Your glory. Amen.
