Are you mourning, believer, because you feel weak in your spiritual life, because your faith seems small and your love faint? Take heart, for there's reason to be grateful. Remember, in some ways, you're equal to the most mature Christian. You are as much bought with Christ's blood as anyone else.
You're just as much a child of God as any other believer. An infant is truly as much a child of its parents as an adult is. You are completely justified, for your standing with God isn't about degrees: your little faith has made you fully clean. You have every right to the blessings of the covenant as the most advanced believers, because your right comes from the covenant itself, not your growth.
Your faith in Jesus marks your inheritance in Him, not its measure. Even if you're not enjoying it as much yet, you're as rich as the richest believer in what you truly possess. The smallest star is placed in heaven, and the faintest ray of light belongs to the sun. In heaven's family, everyone, small and great, is recorded equally.
You're as cherished by your Father as the greatest in His family. Jesus is tender with you. Though you may feel like smoldering flax or a bruised reed, He's gentle and won't quench or break you.
Instead of being discouraged by what you lack, find your triumph in Christ. Are you small in Israel? In Christ, you're seated in heavenly places. Are you poor in faith? In Jesus, you're heir to everything. Even if you find no pride in yourself, rejoice in the Lord and glory in the God of your salvation.
Closing Prayer
Father, in this morning's light, help us to trust You fully, even when the path isn't clear. In Jesus' name, Amen.
