November 20

Aware of their natural defenselessness, the conies make their homes in rocky burrows and remain safe from predators. My heart, learn from these little creatures. You're just as weak and exposed as they are, so be wise and seek shelter. My best protection is in the unchanging God, whose promises are like towering walls of rock.

How blessed you'll be, my heart, if you can always find refuge in His glorious nature, which guarantees safety to those who trust in Him. Praise the Lord, I've done this and I’m safe like David in Adullam, protected from my enemies. I don't need to learn again the blessing of trusting the Lord, for when Satan and my sins chased me, I found refuge in Jesus, in the cleft of His side. My heart, run to Him anew tonight, whatever your grief may be. Jesus understands, comforts, and will help you.

No king in his fortress is safer than the cony in its rocky home. The owner of many chariots is no better protected than the small creature in the mountain cleft. In Jesus, the weak have strength and safety. They are as secure as giants, as safe as if they were in heaven. Faith offers God’s protection to believers on earth.

They need nothing more and cannot wish for better. The conies can't build castles, but they use what's already there. I can't make my own refuge, but Jesus has provided it, and again tonight I enter it, safe from all foes.

Closing Prayer

Lord, as this day closes, help us trust You fully, even when the path isn't clear. In Jesus' name, Amen.
